Intel Arrow Lake Refresh CPUs Already Selling Above MSRP Despite Launch Just Days Ago

Intel's new Arrow Lake Refresh CPUs are already selling above MSRP just 48 hours after launch, with prices up to 17% higher than recommended retail prices across major retailers.

Intel's Arrow Lake Refresh series launched on March 26, 2026, with the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and Core Ultra 7 270K Plus hitting shelves, but prices are already climbing above MSRP just 48 hours later. The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, which carries an MSRP of $299, is currently selling for around $349.99 on major retailers like Newegg. Meanwhile, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus sits at $219.99 despite its $200 MSRP, and the iGPU-less Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus commands $199.99, up from its $185 launch price.

This dynamic pricing trend appears consistent across vendors, making it difficult for consumers to find these CPUs at their recommended retail prices even with only minor price differences. The pricing surge comes amid an unprecedented economic climate where the entire PC industry faces geopolitical supply chain disruptions and the AI boom's massive demand for production capacity.

Despite these pricing challenges, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus earned an Editor's Choice award and was called the best CPU for $200 in reviews. The 270K Plus represents a significant improvement over its predecessor, though it still trails X3D chips in gaming performance. Both processors use Intel's LGA 1851 socket, which unfortunately represents a dead-end platform with Nova Lake expected to deliver a truly generational leap for Intel.

For consumers not planning immediate upgrades, the 250K Plus at $220 remains a solid value proposition, while the 270K Plus at $350 offers flagship performance without the $500 price tag of the 285K model. The pricing situation highlights how market dynamics are trumping manufacturer recommendations in today's volatile semiconductor landscape.
