Lenovo unveiled two distinct tablets at MWC 2026: the Legion Tab gaming tablet with 165Hz display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, and the rugged ThinkTab X11 designed for industrial use with removable battery and battery-less operation.
Lenovo made a strong showing at MWC 2026 with two very different tablets aimed at distinct markets. While Motorola focused on its Razr Fold smartphone, Lenovo brought new tablets and laptops to the show floor. We went hands-on with several devices, and here we'll cover the Legion Tab gaming tablet and the rugged ThinkTab X11.
Lenovo Legion Tab: Gaming in an 8.8-Inch Package
The Legion Tab stands out in a market where most powerful Android tablets are 10 inches or larger. This gaming-focused device features an 8.8-inch IPS LCD display with 3,040 x 1,904px resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. What makes it particularly appealing to gamers is the 165Hz refresh rate, which promises smooth gameplay, along with 600 nits typical brightness that can boost to 750 nits.
Measuring 206.5 x 128.5 x 7.59mm and weighing 360g, the Legion Tab houses a 9,000mAh battery. One of its most practical features is the inclusion of two USB-C ports, allowing you to charge the device while simultaneously connecting accessories or outputting to a monitor.
Powering the tablet is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (not the Elite version), paired with Lenovo's Coldfront Vapor chamber cooling system. Lenovo claims this cooling solution improves heat dissipation efficiency by 32% compared to the previous generation, which should help maintain sustained performance during extended gaming sessions. The chipset works alongside LPDDR5T RAM running at 10,667Mbps and UFS 4.1 Pro storage.
Configuration options include up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The Legion AI Engine+ adds several gaming-focused features like noise cancellation for voice chats, audio enhancements to help you hear in-game sounds more clearly, and scene-based touch sensitivity adjustment.
Unlike most Legion devices that are only available in China, Lenovo is bringing the Legion Tab to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) this April. The starting price is €1,000, and it comes in three colors: Eclipse Black, Glacier White, and Surge Green (the latter exclusive to the FIFA Edition).
Lenovo ThinkTab X11: Built for Tough Environments
The ThinkTab X11 takes a completely different approach, targeting workers in logistics, manufacturing, construction, transportation, and energy sectors. However, its unique features might appeal to consumers as well.
Perhaps the most notable feature is the removable battery. Unlike most devices that require tools to access the battery, the ThinkTab X11 allows for quick swaps without undoing any screws. This enables extended use through battery replacement, but more interestingly, it allows for "battery-less mode." In this mode, the tablet can run directly from wall power or a vehicle dock, eliminating concerns about lithium-ion battery degradation from constant charging cycles.
Like the Legion Tab, the ThinkTab X11 features two USB-C ports for simultaneous charging and peripheral connections. Lenovo also offers a USB-C to Pogo Pin converter, allowing the tablet to dock quickly without fumbling with cables. This approach is more efficient than wireless charging while being faster than traditional USB-C connections.
The tablet is built to withstand harsh conditions, having passed MIL-STD-810H testing and earning an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The touchscreen works with gloved and wet hands, and there's a built-in stylus that slots into the top left corner for precise input.
A Gorilla Glass-protected 10.95-inch LCD display offers 2,560 x 1,600px resolution (16:10) with 600 nits in high brightness mode. Under the hood, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.2 storage.
The software situation is somewhat disappointing for a durable device - it ships with Android 16 and will only receive updates to Android 18 (just two OS updates). However, Lenovo has committed to four years of security patches, which is crucial for enterprise use.
Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and an NFC reader on the front for easy inventory scanning. The tablet measures 9.93mm thick and weighs 650g, making it noticeably chunkier than typical consumer tablets. It's available in a single "Eclipse Black" color option and will launch in EMEA in April for €500.
Both tablets showcase Lenovo's strategy of creating specialized devices for specific use cases rather than trying to make one tablet fit all needs. The Legion Tab brings high-end gaming features to a more portable form factor, while the ThinkTab X11 offers durability and unique power options for professional environments.
